Recently, Hong Kong Haitong Trading Co., Ltd. signed a major contract with Nanjing Jinling Shipyard to provide the power and hybrid power systems of CommScope Maritime for the (9+3) Ro ships ordered by the Grimaldi Group of Italy. The total contract value will exceed 500 million Norwegian kroner.
This batch of Italian ships has been delivered since 2020, with a length of 238 meters, a width of 34 meters, and more than 7800 lane meters, equivalent to approximately 500 trailers. This batch of ships is known as Grimaldi Green 5th Generation (GG5G), which is the fifth generation of Grimaldi green ro-ro ships.
It is understood that Hong Kong Haitong Trading Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Merchants Haitong Trading Co., Ltd., is the exclusive agent of Compaq Maritime in China. This order includes the supply and integration of large battery systems, shaft belt generators, frequency converters, and energy management systems. This project uses hybrid drive technology to ensure zero emissions when ships are berthing in port, which is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly than traditional diesel engines, meets international advanced standards, and fully meets market demand.
The signing of this project is a strategic cooperation between Hong Kong Haitong and Jinling Shipyard under the SBU framework of China Merchants Group, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of Hong Kong Haitong in the field of new energy ships, enhanced the market development ability of China Merchants Haitong and the synergy ability of the internal industrial sectors of the group. China Merchants Haitong will fully exert its own advantages and contribute to the optimization of the income structure of China Merchants Group.
